Located right next door to Arenal Lodge is one of the most visited place in Arenal.

 

Arenal Volcano

Arenal Volcano emergesat 5,437 feet,  large and portentous over the green hillsides that surround its base. Although currently it is in a resting phase, Arenal volcano is supposed to be the country's most active volcano for the past 43 years.

 

Hot Springs

Thanks to geothermal activity beneath the Arenal Volcano, the surrounding area is home to a number of hot springs. There are springs for every budget and style like the Tabacon Resort which is only at 10 minutes driving distance from our gate and Baldi Hot Springs about 15 minutes away from us.

 

Lake Arenal

Just as monumental as the volcano that rises above its eastern shoreline, this lake is over 33 square miles (85 square kilometers) and has a depth of 200 feet (60 meters). It is Costa Rica’s largest landlocked body of water and provides ample opportunities for activities such as windsurfing, fishing, boating and kayaking.

 

Arenal National Park

With 29,692-acre (12,016-ha) Arenal Volcano National Park is located within the larger 504,094-acre (204,000-ha) Arenal Conservation Area, which protects some 16 reserves between the Tilarán and Guanacaste mountain ranges. While exploring the Arenal Volcano National Park you might spot deers, tapirs, howler and white-faced monkeys,  snakes, and a variety of birds including parrots and toucans.

The charming town of La Fortuna sits just 4 miles (6.4 km) from the Arenal Volcano and 12 miles (20 km) from the Arenal Lodge. La Fortuna has a number of good restaurants and bars, as well as banks, grocery stores, drug stores, gift shops and local artisans.
